MAISON PAULE KA
More than 30 years of fashion and Parisian chic
PAULE KA was created by Serge Cajfinger, an aesthete passionate about the Sixties and its icons, the vibrant colours of his childhood in Brazil and the elegance of Parisian couture.
Since the opening of the brand’s first store on Rue Mahler, Paris in 1988, PAULE KA has established itself as a reference for sophisticated, ready-to-wear, offering a complete range of day and evening wear to fit every woman’s needs.
PAULE KA holds a unique position in the ready-to-wear fashion market: authentic, yet affordable luxury. The brand offers beautiful products, fine fabrics, meticulous finishes and a chic and feminine look.
This unique position allowed PAULE KA to quickly establish itself internationally: 60 stores and 300 points of sale all over the world, including Paris, London, New York, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Dubai. The Paris flagship and ateliers remain at the heart of the fashion capital: 223 rue Saint-Honoré.
PAULE KA is now led by the female duo Catherine Vautrin (CEO) and Alithia Spuri-Zampetti (Creative Director); both renowned Fashion and Luxury professionals who share the same passion for PAULE KA’s chic and understated Parisian style.
Born in San Diego, raised in Rome, a graduate from London Central Saint Martin School… Alithia Spuri-Zampetti’s varied life experiences have enriched her love for subtle and accessible luxury with a feminine and sophisticated couture feel. She previously worked for Valentino and Bottega Veneta, before spending six years with Alber Elbaz at Lanvin.
She is now creating a brand new lexicon for PAULE KA, while reinterpreting classics such as the little black dress or trapeze skirt with the help of the in-house “ateliers”. Following a subtle palette of sophisticated shades, she plays with the house’s materials and colour codes every day. Suggesting new volumes out of sensual pleats and off-the-wall details, bold accessories and couture trompe-l’oeil, she keeps in mind today’s women, with their unique desires and needs.
From a perfect pair of trousers to a spectacular evening gown: here is an urban, contemporary and joyful wardrobe, thoughtfully designed both for day and night.
Founder Serge Cajfinger was born in Lille in 1955 and spent his childhood in Brazil.
Returning to France in 1968, he opened his first multi-brand store in his hometown, which he named Paule Ka.
Moving to Paris in 1987, Serge created the Ready-To-Wear brand under the same name, and opened the first PAULE KA boutique in the Marais. Inspired by the grace of the 50s and 60s, he sought to give a modern twist to the timelessly elegant wardrobes of icons such as Jackie Kennedy, Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly.
The brand’s style is geometric and simple; sophisticated yet urban; with a few must-haves like the perfect little black dress and handbags made with impeccable materials and detail. Serge’s work for PAULE KA plays upon charm more than seduction, and his distinguished and contemporary silhouettes have earned him the loyalty of a diverse clientele.
Located at 223 Rue Saint-Honoré since 2007, the fashion house PAULE KA continues its global development with the opening of boutiques in China and throughout Europe, as well as a flagship store and showroom in New York.
To this day, PAULE KA is established in 56 countries and distributed throughout 475 points of sale, 60 of which are stand-alone stores dedicated exclusively to the brand in cities such as Paris, London, New York, Dubai, Hong Kong and Singapore.
